I sent an email asking Martin Masek some questions about Nullarbor. For those who are planning on making a submission, the following information may be helpful:
- The submission deadline is midnight between 30th & 31st March.
- The competition runs for 3 days (30th March - 1st April) with the prize ceremony on Sunday 1st April.
- You should be able to attend the GO3 conference without it conflicting with your Nullarbor commitments.
- Keep intermediate versions of your progress to prove originality upon the judge’s request.
- The competition PC specifications are HP DC 7100 Desktops (3.2GHz/1GB DDR2/40GB HD/XP PRO/17″ TFT DISPLAY) with POV GS7600 512MB Graphics Card.
- It is advisable to make sure your submission works on the competition PCs prior to the deadline. Enquiries should be directed to Martin Masek or Adrian Boeing.
- More rules specific to your category can be found here.
Good luck with your submissions!
Any idea if the desktops will have Windows and Linux installed?
From what I can gather, just Windows at the moment
We’ve asked to have Linux on the machines, but I’m not sure if that’s going ahead… Otherwise we’re looking to make a live CD (using Knoppix maybe), and if that isn’t allowed… port our game to windows. Ack!
Just read an email from Martin:
> OneTwenty can relax - a CD that boots up with linux will be fine.
Yay!!
