You should soon be able to find these flyers plastered around the usual gamer haunts. (Click here for a higher resolution version.) Clearly, we owe a lot to our generous major prize sponsors: Gametraders (Carillon City), Timezone (Northbridge), and the GO3 Electronic Entertainment Expo. Thanks for your support!

If you are interested in sponsoring our event you can get in touch with us through our Contact page. For general question, why not leave a comment on this post? :D

In fairness to my non-gamer friends - are the majority of the questions gamer/geek related?

Most questions are gamer/geek related, but there should be enough that are accessible from a general audience. Either stuff that has spread into wider culture, or entertaining questions that can probably be figured out by deductive reasoning. That said, there will be questions that separate the gaming uber-geeks from the normal person.

The three rounds are: popular culture, arcade games, console games, and PC games. I think they get more hardcore as you go…

    Sample questions:

    - (Easy) Which video game company is “Mario” the mascot for? (1 point)
    - (Medium) Which Australian actress and singer played the role of “Cammy” in the live-action Street Fighter 2 movie? (1 point)
    - (Hard) How much does the “Desert Eagle” cost in the original Counter Strike? (2 points for spot-on, 1 point for within $25)

We still have to massage the questions to fit the audience, so let us know what you’re after! :)

I’m in. I like the idea of questions indirectly related to gaming.
How about some questions about ‘classic’ gaming of the 80s and 90s, hardware/software development on pc and consoles for gaming, and the
consoles that never were, or failed miserably. ?
