As a SIGGRAPH Perth committee member-at-large I’m once again giving a plug for their next event. If you are interested in attending though, don’t forget to RSVP.
SIGGRAPH 2005 Conference Special Session Screening Details:
- Time/Date: 6:30pm, Monday, 23rd of April 2007
- Location : eCentral TAFE (in Theatrette B202), 140 Royal St, East Perth
- Cost: Members - Free, Non-members $10 ($5 for students)
If you’ve never been to a SIGGRAPH Perth event, check out Nick’s post and if you’re wondering what this screening is all about, here’s an abstract excerpt from SIGGRAPH Perth’s website:
In this presentation, three ILM legends, Dennis Muren, John Knoll and Rob Coleman walk us through all six instalments in the series, comparing the techniques that ILM employed over the years to bring these historical environments, characters and space battles to the big screen.
This informative talk features rare “behind the scenes” video and imagery from the production of the Star Wars series. From puppets to cinematography, pre-vis to photo realistic digital characters, this rich material provides a unique perspective on the past, present and future of Cinema Visual Effects.
In case you were wondering, the speakers won’t be physically giving the presentation at eCentral TAFE but rather it’s a playback of a presentation originally given at SIGGRAPH’s 2005 Conference Special Session. Enjoy.
